Black Cabinet Knobs The Strathcona area of Vancouver, British Columbia, began as a carpenters' community, says clothier Tanya Mclean, proprietor and inventive director of Mango Design Co. Row properties and cottages for millworkers, as well as a few stores and a school, sprang up around Hastings Mill within the overdue 1800s & early 1900s. The Strathcona couple who got here to Mclean for help in reworking their 3-tale 1902 house wanted to honor its architectural historical past even as melding it with their number of midcentury up to date furnishings, and to make it a livable space for their small family. A century-antique house in Canada gets new existence with a black-&-white colour scheme & midcentury furniture.
